We all know flight sims is a game, it supposes to be fun. GREAT FUN!
But as a professional pilot, you need to ensure you know how to fly. The duty of a pilot by Answer.com:
"To successfully navigate and fly a plane from one specific point to another with the safety and the comfort of as many passengers as possible kept in mind at all times and without damaging the equipment. To fly the plane, make announcement's, and give commands. It is an important job."
It is too short but true. The duty of a airline pilot is not take off and roll a 360 degree turn upside down and landed at -2000 Landing rate (FPM). The pilot rating in our systems is to ensure the pilot follow the basic regulations. We understand not all Sim pilot enjoy the ATC, regulations and 550 page pilot handbook, but at least to know the basic of Aeronautical Knowledge.
After you know the basis Aeronautical Knowledge. You will want to find more information about the Air traffic control, Navigation, Flight Instruments, taxing, engine start procedure, FMC, fuel, weather ,regulations, etc.... Every pilots in the real world aviation is still learning new technology and regulations.
Federal Aviation Administration@US provide a wonderful page for pilot to learn about basic of Aeronautical Knowledge. Please spent some times to learn and discover more. The more you know, the more enjoyment you get.
